Hey Guys! So this will be my first real post! This is a lazy post so if you have any questions PLEASE contact me. I haven't been feeling to good, but I really am trying to work this out. I haven't gotten around my camera. I wanted to do a Mary Kay cosmetic review, but I wanted to take pictures so everyone can get a better look at what they're buying. However, I decided to go with 2 shampoos that I've tried. Now the two products below are from a Professional Line:
Sebastian Penetraitt REPAIR Shampoo & Conditioner
I bought this set at Ulta store/salon. It was a buy one get one free promo. However, I think it was this BOGO deal because it's been setting out there for so long- you'll see why. The price was approximately around $13.00 plus tax (ugh). It was located in the back of the store, next to the salon in the "high end" circle. However, you should know that Ulta actually seperates its stuff from GENERIC brands and QUALITY brands. You should be able to see where the generic and the high end things are located. If you can find it at Wal-Mart.. it's generic.
Anyway, moving on.. I bought Sebastian because I've never really seen it or hear people talking about it so much, so I decided to give it a try. I gave it 2 weeks. I would give it longer, if it wasn't bad for me.
First time I used it, my hair LITERALLY fell off WAY more than usual. This was IN the shower, NOT after. Not only that, but I have some pretty short hair and because this was supposed to be a "high quality" line, I shouldn't need so much shampoo right? Well I had to use the size of 2 quarters to shampoo my hair. So I didn't mind the hair shedding off my head, since I do have a LOT of hair.
Next, I moved on to the conditioner. The conditioner didn't do much justice to my hair either. Once I rinsed it off, I couldn't smell anything, I couldn't feel anything. So there isn't much to review really. I could feel my frustration and money well wasted out of my hair follicles.
Anyway, just to educate some of you out there. Professional brands like these should have a guarantee in the back. NOT the SATISFACTION GUARANTEE crap, but the "ONLY GUARANTEED IF PURCHASED IN A PROFESSIONAL SALON." So what does that mean exactly? Well, if you don't purchase it in a Salon OR a beauty supplier (Sally's Beauty doesn't count. The only way you can go into a beauty supplier is with a Salon ID name or your student badge). If you see a name brand on the drugstores- chances are the chemicals has been altered, therefore, cancelling out the guarantee.
Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Shampoo & Conditioner
I originally purchased this shampoo for my father-in-law because of his complaints over the shampoos that he used: Pantene/ Suave/ Tresemme. I went to Armstrong McCall- a professional beauty supplier-. Yes I took advantage of my student ID badge LOL. I saw a catchy price of Joico promo product for only $10.00 for 2 things!!! I thought it was Christmas all over again! Jk. It was the K-Pak Reconstruct. I wanted to try it right away. I've never used Joico in my life and I've heard good things about it. Like the pH (potential Hydrogen) balance of it for skin & scalp and how it is THE ONLY company that uses REAL healthy Asian hair protein extract. So I decided why not? My hair is falling off like an old lady anyway.
The first time I tried it, I didn't really have to use a lot of the shampoo. Which was great. The feeling wasn't heavy at all, rather very light but rich in lather. I noticed right away that my hair didn't really fall off much. Some fell off, yes- but that's normal (the amount anyway). Afterwards, I did the conditioner and left it on for 2 minutes, even though they said one minute. Once I rinsed it off, I could feel a big difference in my hair. Though I rinsed it, I felt like my hair was moistured without the feeling of weighing down. When I towel-dried my hair, oh my gosh.. well you have to experience it yourself.
Now since I blow dry my hair when it's wet, I put on Joico Color Restorative Oil that came in a small bottle with the package. I put on a little bit and blow dried it. I don't think my hair has ever looked so healthy since the last time I went to the salon.
I highly recommend this product. Now, I haven't tried the other lines, so I'm not saying ALL Joico, but just this one that I've tried. I've been using it since. Sorry Father-in-law. haha. Oh, also, this won't be selling for $10.00 at the salon... unless you're buying it off of Amazon (STAY AWAY!). It will be a little pricier, but will be worth the money.
