I've been dead. Like seriously dying. School was kicking my butt. Had to get up at the crack of dawn just to get ready and by the time I get home it's like already 5 p.m. First week was the easiest week: Hair diseases. Follow by 2 weeks of NAILS. NAILS.
That's right, I'll be honest and admit that doing nails isn't my forte. I can do a damn good french manicure. But pedicure? Forget it! Smelling people's feet and looking at feet in general grosses me out! Not to mention when we did acrylic nails in free form, mine looked like a freaking mermaid's tail. It's sad. I can do great clear acrylic free form on someone, but once we do french acrylics or nail art... I'd rather be picking my nose or scratch my ass. Ugh.
The smell of monomer REALLY bothers me too. The odorless monomer makes no difference, because they take 100 years to dry! I absolutely have NO patience for that LOL. This one guy in class makes my nail art looks like Picasso though. His take on nail art consists of: painting all of the tips red, and write an alphabet on each one of them with black polish. Hahaha "HOOKER BOMB!"
Oh yeah and shot a video of some of the stuff I got in my kit! Most of them are in my locker.. I couldn't fit it all in my bag. Some of them are not the greatest quality, but remember, you practice with them and I will invest in some items later on.
Also the school I attend, it had some really crappy reviews out in the east coast, but the location where I attend is amazing. I love my teachers, I love how they really keep the students in check and the curriculum. Most schools will throw their students out in the salon floor within a month. We have to learn all the fundamentals, complete 360 training and then we get on the salon floor. That usually takes about 3-4 months. I also love how we strictly use Goldwell products. I swear on that product.
